Liz Ahrends Award

The Liz Ahrends Award is intended to contribute to the work of specialist tutors who are supporting students with specific learning difficulties. It was set up in memory of Liz Ahrends, a founder member of ADSHE, who championed the work of freelance tutors in the development and delivery of effective independent support. The Award is in recognition of the profound influence that one-to-one support has on the lives of students with SpLDs.

The Liz Ahrends Award of £300 will be awarded annually at the ADSHE Networking Day.

ADSHE members who work in a freelance or part-time capacity offering individual specialist tuition offering individual specialist tuition are invited to submit proposals of no more than 300 words outlining how they would use The Award in support of their work. ADSHE members may wish to propose a colleague for the Award who they feel has made a significant contribution through their specialist support to the development of students with SpLD
